For those people who like to discover not only the tourist-bathing aspects, the town also offers some important works from its rich history.

In the main square it is possible to admire the Swabian Castle: place where once originated today's built-up area, built to defend the people from the pirates attacks.

On the south of the town, lies the archaeological area of the Roman town of Potentia, where it is possible to visit the ruins of some buildings. There are also statuesque findings, kept inside the keep of the Swabian Castle.

In the Scossicci valley stands the small Church of "Banderuola", built on the site where, according to tradition, the Holy House (kept today in the famous Sanctuary of Loreto) stopped for its first time during its translation in Italy. Finally, of particular interest, is the millenary Saint Mary's Abbey in Potenza, founded by the Cruferous monks of the XII century.
